Bereits 2009 startete das Projekt “The Lonely Girls Project”, das eben keine Supermodels zeigt, sondern ganz normale Frauen. Das Projekt sollte einen Akzent gegen die überinszenierten Kampagnen der herkömmlichen Wäschelabels setzen. Beispielsweise Victoria’s Secret, Intimissimi oder auch hierzulande Hunkemöller, für das die gertenschlanke Sylvie Meis bis zuletzt warb.

Die Models, der Lonely-Kollektion sind Frauen unterschiedlichen Alters, Größe, Hautfarbe. Manche Frauen sind professionelle Models, andere Mütter. Die Bilder werden weder retuschiert, noch mit Photoshop verändert. Was bei den Bildern außerdem auffällt, die Frauen müssen nicht posen, lächeln oder ihren Bauch einziehen. Sie werden entweder zu Hause oder an Orten, an denen sie sich wohlfühlen fotografiert.

Eine Kampagne wie diese ist ein Anfang, das Körperbild der Frau in der Öffentlichkeit zu verändern. Bis jetzt sind sie dennoch Ausnahmen.
